Erna Gruppen and Anderstiftelsen have launched a long-term initiative for democracy, freedom of speech, knowledge, and dialogue. Our ambition is clear: to create a democratic and knowledge-based house with international relevance – right in the heart of Karlstad. Demokratiska.

But Demokratiska is not waiting to come alive until the building is finished.

It starts now.

Therefore, we are looking for you who want to be part of building the operations from the very beginning.

About the role

Here, you will become a key part of the setup phase of Demokratiska. The role is about creating momentum and making things happen in practice. You will work closely with the project management and help translate ideas and ambitions into concrete operations.

Initially, two areas will be particularly important:

• Establishing and developing study visits and activities for schools, primarily for grades 7–9.
• Contributing to Demokratiska's communication and visibility.

You will also be involved in developing the Demokratilabbet (Democracy Lab) and establishing functional formats for visits, activities, workshops, and collaborations.

This involves, among other things:

• Coordinating activities and sub-projects.
• Planning and conducting school visits, tours, and workshops.
• Contributing to communication via web and social media.
• Collaborating with schools, universities, cultural actors, and other partners.
• Creating structure, keeping things together, and following up on activities.
• Providing operational support where needed.

One day might involve meeting a school class at the Demokratilabbet. The next day could be about coordinating an event, publishing content, booking activities, or solving practical issues. The role therefore requires both structure, flexibility, and the ability to deliver.

• Likes building something new.
• Thrives in environments where not everything is in place yet.
• Gains energy from creating momentum and making things work.
• Can switch between strategic thinking and practical implementation.
• Is good at collaborating and building relationships.
• Is unpretentious and solution-oriented.
• Sees what needs to be done and takes responsibility for making it happen.
• Is confident in interactions with people, including young target groups.
• Can handle conversations where different perspectives meet.

You don't need to know everything from the start. But you need the ability to learn quickly, think independently, and the desire to contribute where needed.

We see that you have

• Experience in project management, coordination, business development, or similar.
• Good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
• Good digital literacy and experience with digital communication.
• Experience working independently and driving tasks forward.
• Confidence in meeting young people and in school-related contexts.

It is an advantage if you have experience from:

• Schools or educational environments.
• Culture, events, or visitor activities.
• Work with young target groups.
• Workshops, tours, or pedagogical activities.
• Collaborative projects or society-oriented operations.
