Do you want to become part of our team at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry unit in Gällivare? You are warmly welcome to apply for the position of Social Worker / Counselor with us.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry unit is a county clinic with outpatient clinics in four locations: Gällivare, Kalix, Luleå, and Piteå. The county clinic also includes the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry safety team, the neuropsychiatric CAP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) team, and inpatient care.

We are looking for

We are looking for you who are a trained social worker/counselor with Step 1 training in psychotherapy and who have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Experience working within Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) or other psychiatric activities is meritorious, as is experience in treatment work with children, young people, and their families.

To thrive in this role, you are independent, flexible, and have a good ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work even when conditions change. You have a strong commitment to the mental health of children and young people and a genuine patient- and family-focused approach. As a person, you are secure, sensitive, and empathetic, with a professional and warm demeanor. You are communicative, solution-focused, and have good collaboration skills. You work systematically and actively contribute to the team's common goals. You thrive in a digital work environment and are accustomed to working in medical record systems and other digital tools. You value collaboration, are happy to share your knowledge, and appreciate development, supervision, and shared learning.

What you will work with

As a counselor/social worker, you will become an important part of the CAP team where cross-professional collaboration is a central part of the work. You are offered stimulating and varied work with tasks such as:

  • Conversation therapy based on Step 1 psychotherapy
  • Group therapy for children, young people, and guardians
  • Parental conversations and family-oriented work
  • Collaboration with schools, social services, and other external actors
  • Participation in assessment work and treatment conferences
  • Documentation in medical record systems
  • Contribute to the development of working methods and routines
  • Supervision of students or new colleagues may occur

The work is adapted to the operations and the patients' needs, and your introduction is designed individually based on your background. You are offered regular supervision and competence development. As a county clinic, we collaborate actively with other CAP clinics in Norrbotten, which provides good opportunities for knowledge exchange and professional development.

Information about the position

We offer a permanent full-time position, daytime hours, with the workplace in Gällivare. Start date as agreed. Selection and interviews take place continuously, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.

The position is within child healthcare: We apply register control before deciding on employment according to the provisions in the Act (2013:852) on register control of persons who are to work with children.

The position is within psychiatry: Based on the nature of the operations and safety requirements, applicants to our operations must be prepared to provide extracts from the criminal record.

Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreement.
