Fjälldalen Preschool is a preschool with six departments where nature and the mountain are close at hand, offering you as a pedagogue a unique opportunity to be involved in shaping the preschool of the future. The preschool opened in January 2025, and we are now looking for you who want to join a wonderful group of colleagues and build a long-term career at the preschool. At the preschool, we meet our children in their first education and their first steps in lifelong learning, and you as a pedagogue are important.

Job Description

The Swedish National Agency for Education's curriculum for the preschool (Lpfö 18) describes the preschool's value base and mission and contains goals and guidelines for the work in the preschool. The children in the preschool should receive a secure education where care, development, and learning form a whole. The work as a preschool teacher (barnskötare) means that you, together with the work team, design a secure and developmental education for the children at the preschool. The work is challenging, exciting, creative, and takes place in close cooperation with your work team and colleagues at the preschool. As a preschool teacher, you are part of a work team and participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the activities offered to the children. You collaborate with the work team, and together you offer the children a fun and educational environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a preschool teacher (barnskötare) or who are studying to become one, alternatively another education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

It is important that:

• you are familiar with our governing document, The Curriculum for the Preschool (Lpfö 18),
• you are a secure and clear leader, have an easy time taking initiative, are positive, and have faith in children's various competencies,
• you value trustful relationships with children and guardians and have good cooperation skills,
• you use pedagogical conversations and pedagogical documentation in your work,
• you use image support and TAKK (Signs as Alternative and Augmentative Communication),
• you are interested in developing the preschool.

Very good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a prerequisite for the position. Great importance will be attached to personal qualities and personal suitability.

Within the framework of the National Minority Language Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

Working Hours/Duration

Fixed-term employment, 60% (three days a week). From August 3, 2026, to December 23, 2026. With the possibility of extension.
