Åsele Municipality is looking for a substitute head of department/instrumental music teacher for the Culture School in Åsele

Responsibilities

As an instrumental music teacher at the Culture School, you will provide comprehensive music education and develop students' skills so that music becomes a meaningful and stimulating part of their lives. Åsele Culture School offers education with a wide range of instruments, singing, orchestras, and ensembles.

We are looking for an instrumental music teacher specializing in piano, guitar, drums, bass, and vocals. Having a combination of multiple instruments is an advantage. Your students at the culture school are primarily primary school pupils. As an instrumental teacher, you teach students individually or in groups.

Åsele Culture School contributes to the cultural life of the municipality through various collaborations, orchestras (e.g., Lucia and school graduations), scenic music projects, and more. We also collaborate with other schools in the county. As the head of department, you will participate in meetings with other music and culture schools in Västerbotten and work to develop cross-municipal cooperation. The Culture School falls under the Department of Leisure, Tourism & Culture.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with eligibility in music, or alternatively have other education/merits within your instrument that the employer deems equivalent, combined with pedagogical training. It is an advantage if you master several instruments or other forms of cultural art.

You are a person who enjoys working with children and young people and puts the students at the center. You have a positive attitude and the ability to lead and organize your work so that students receive a safe and inclusive learning environment. You are proactive and have a problem-solving perspective in interactions with students, parents, and colleagues. You are curious about trying new things, developing your work, and appreciate working both independently and in collaboration with colleagues and other schools.
