Your responsibilities

The Culture School is looking for a substitute transverse flute teacher for instruction in transverse flute, orchestra, and basic course (Flute Mix). You will teach children and young people of all skill levels aged 7–19, in both classical styles and other genres. The position includes leading ensembles within a large orchestra program.

You will be part of the wind instrument team, collaborate closely with several colleagues, and together with us, focus heavily on the orchestra activities.

Teaching takes place primarily at the Culture School's premises (Kulturhuset Najaden) during the afternoon/evening. We have newly built, well-equipped, and purpose-built facilities.

Work on holidays may occur. An engaged and friendly collegium welcomes you.

The position is a temporary assignment during the autumn term of 2026, with a possibility of extension.

Your qualifications

• A pedagogical university college education in music with transverse flute as the main instrument, or other equivalent education or pedagogical competence acquired through experience that the employer considers equivalent.
• Experience in orchestra/ensemble leadership and teaching.

The following are considered merits:

• Artistic university college education
• Experience teaching at a Culture School
• Experience and education in FMT (Functional Music Therapy) – in this case, the position could be 100%

You are a person with great commitment who places the students' development and interest first. You are self-reliant, driven, and take great responsibility for your tasks. You have good pedagogical skills and a clear desire to help children and young people develop through cultural practice. In your role, you should be able to spark and build upon the student's interest, as well as inspire and adapt teaching to each individual's unique prerequisites.

A driver's license and access to a car are required.
