The Preschool and Primary School Administration is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation – preschool, primary school, and child/student health services – we are here for children and students – together we shape the future.

Ankarskolan and Spannarps skola share a common catchment area in the southwestern part of Varberg Municipality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Motivating and inspiring students is your greatest driving force. As an after-school care teacher with us, you play a central role in creating a safe, developmental, and motivating environment for the students where we create the best possible meeting for learning. Together with your colleagues, you form a relational leadership where the quality of teaching is in focus. By planning, implementing, and following up on your varied teaching, you give students the opportunity to develop both socially and academically. You work to strengthen their creativity, curiosity, and self-esteem through play, creativity, and movement.

You will work together with colleagues in a small work team. During school hours, you will meet the students in preschool class, and in the afternoons, you will work at the after-school care center with the same students.

You may be responsible for planning activities individually and together with others.

Examples of tasks:

  • Design teaching based on scientific foundation and proven experience.
  • Be responsible for clear leadership that promotes student learning, participation, and influence.
  • Plan and follow up on after-school care teaching based on your choice of pedagogical and didactic strategies, adapted to the students' needs.
  • Meet each student in their knowledge progression and contribute to developing accessible learning environments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a red thread in students' learning throughout the school day.
  • Take responsibility for being a good role model and contribute to an organization for planning and evaluating teaching.

QUALIFICATIONS

As pedagogical staff, you are engaged and have a formative approach with the ability to create motivating and activating teaching. Your teaching rests on proven experience and scientific foundation with an exploratory approach.

You thrive in collaboration with colleagues and actively contribute to developing the operation by planning and following up on teaching together. You have good structure in your work and can adapt teaching based on students' needs and the school's goals.

Together, we are responsible for creating a sustainable work environment where both students and staff feel good, can grow, and develop. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

To succeed in the assignment, you have:

  • A pedagogical education, e.g., certified preschool teacher or certified after-school care teacher
  • A holistic view of learning and teaching where you see the possibilities in supporting students' development throughout the entire school day.
  • Good assessment skills to follow up on students' development and give constructive feedback.
  • Clear planning skills to structure lessons and work areas in an overviewable way.
  • Good didactic skills to translate the curriculum's purpose into practical operations.
  • Good collaboration skills and a relationship-building approach.

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-08-17. Start date according to agreement, end date: 2027-06-18.
