We are looking for a University Lecturer (Universitetsadjunkt) in Social Work.

Academy of Health and Welfare

The University College consists of four interdisciplinary academies, and the current position is located at the Academy of Health and Welfare (HOV).

Description and Duties

In this position, you will primarily teach on the Social Work program, but teaching within other programs and courses may also be included. The teaching consists mainly of training in practical skills parts of the education, including practice-based education (VFU), personal professional development (PPU), and investigative work, but also theoretical moments and thesis supervision. The teaching is primarily conducted on campus and preferably in Swedish, but teaching in English may also occur. The duties also include development work, such as course development. You are expected to collaborate with other teachers at the University College of Halmstad as well as with national and international partners and actively contribute to the development of the Social Work education. Administrative tasks are also part of the position.

Qualifications

To be eligible for employment as a University Lecturer in Social Work, one must have an advanced degree and have demonstrated pedagogical skill through, for example, supervision, lectures, and pedagogical development work.

For an employment as a University Lecturer, completed higher education pedagogy training is required, or that the applicant has acquired equivalent knowledge in another way. Alternatively, the person appointed to the position must complete a higher education pedagogy course offered by the University College within two years after the start of employment.

Other Assessment Criteria

For this position, the eligibility requirements are additionally:

• A Social Work degree (Social Worker) as well as a Master's degree in Social Work or an adjacent field
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Several years of experience in practical social work, where the experience is assessed as current and relevant in relation to the duties of the position

Experience of practical social work within public administration or preventive social work is meritorious.
