The Education Department is responsible for preschool, primary school, after-school centers, upper secondary school, adult education, as well as child and student health services. Approximately 1,100 employees work here, creating a secure and developmental school and childcare environment together.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for an engaged special teacher with qualifications in Swedish and English at the upper secondary level for our Learning Centre within Adult Education Ystad. Here, you will meet adult students with different backgrounds, experiences, and goals – from those taking their first steps back into studies to those wanting to complete their education.

As a special teacher, you will support, motivate, and guide students visiting the Learning Centre. You will also work proactively with students at risk of not completing their studies or who are not following their study plans.

You provide subject support to students studying Swedish and English. In addition, you offer all students general guidance and study support, such as coaching conversations, support with structure and planning, etc. You have the ability to motivate and find new paths and solutions that help students reach their goals.

At the Learning Centre, we work in a close team where student development is at the center. You will work closely with our special needs educator, study and career counselors, as well as the examination service. You will also collaborate with our contracted distance education, where the majority of our students study. You will have the opportunity to influence the development of the operations and be an important part of the work to create good conditions for adult learning.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who:

• are a certified teacher with a special teacher degree
• have the qualification to teach Swedish and English at the upper secondary level
• are self-reliant and proactive in your work
• have strong pedagogical skills
• have experience in adult education
• have good knowledge of adult learning and different study prerequisites
• have a good understanding of students' different needs and conditions to meet these within adult education
• have good digital competence and experience working in digital learning environments.

Your collaboration is characterized by your ability to cooperate and contribute to the development of both yourself and the operations. You treat everyone with a high level of service, kindness, and quality, with a clear focus on the student.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

• Working hours: Schedule. Evening hours will also occur in this position.
