RESPONSIBILITIES

Your specialty is teaching drum set and percussion for children and young people, preferably with broad genre knowledge to meet the student's ambitions and wishes. You are also part of the school's orchestras and are responsible for leading one of them. You have the student in focus and are good at building good relationships.

The position is 40% and the working hours are mainly scheduled for afternoons and evenings. Some weekend work is included.

As a teacher at the cultural school, you belong to a cheerful and creative work team that together works to give the children and young people in Burlöv municipality the opportunity to gain an extra language, a cultural form of expression. We work together on various projects, which means that as a teacher you are not limited to working with your own teaching but may also participate in concerts and music festivals which can take place not only in Burlöv municipality but also in cooperation with other cultural schools. We also want our teachers to be engaged in the joint development work carried out in the Department of Culture and Leisure.

Burlöv's cultural school is for all children in the municipality and is based on the articles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child regarding all children's right to freely participate in artistic and cultural life as well as to express their opinions and thoughts in the form they choose themselves. In our beautiful premises in Arlöv, we run a business that is based on the students' own choices and motivation and is a living meeting place for children and young people. We offer children and young people aged 4-20 a wide range of cultural activities - in addition to music in all its forms, we also have dance, visual arts and design, and animation as well as outward-facing activities in the municipality's preschools and primary schools. We currently have around 400 students and 14 part-time teachers.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a teacher education from a university college of music with percussion as the main instrument, or equivalent with the same focus. You should also have education and experience in conducting an orchestra.

You are a person with great commitment, driven, creative, good at collaboration, and puts the students at the center, letting them develop at their own pace according to their artistic ambitions.
