Category Manager EL, Plumbing, Sundries & Protection (PSU) – Ahlsell Retail (Gelia & Skydda)
Do you have a passion for category development, business, and strong supplier relationships? Do you want to help develop some of the strongest brands in the Nordics within installation and workplace safety products? Then this might be the role for you.
As a Category Manager within Ahlsell Retail, you will play a key role in the development of our product areas EL, Plumbing, Sundries, and Protection (PSU) under the brands Gelia and Skydda. You are responsible for ensuring a competitive, profitable, and market-adapted assortment that meets the needs of both retailers and end customers.
You will work closely with suppliers, internal functions, and the market to develop the business, identify new opportunities, and strengthen our positions within each category. This role is suitable for you if you are driven by combining commercial thinking with a strong customer and assortment focus.

Your future responsibilities
As a Category Manager, you are responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing the assortment within EL, Plumbing, Sundries, and Protection (PSU). You ensure that our products and offerings are relevant, competitive, and profitable in our various sales channels.
Examples of tasks:
- Participate in the development and management of the assortment within your categories
- Formulate and implement category and assortment strategies
- Drive supplier collaborations and annual negotiations
- Identify and introduce new products, concepts, and market opportunities
- Responsible for base pricing, margin development, and profitability monitoring
- Be involved in the development of own brands and product concepts
- Ensure the assortment is adapted for different sales channels and customer segments
- Work closely with the marketing and sales organization regarding campaigns, launches, and assortment activities
- Follow market development, trends, and customer needs to ensure a relevant offering
- Analyze sales data, inventory development, and key figures to optimize the business
- Participate in supplier visits, trade fairs, and industry activities
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have experience in category development, category management, purchasing, or sales, preferably within construction, installation, tools, workplace safety, or related industries.
You are business-oriented, analytical, and thrive on combining strategic work with operational execution. You have a genuine interest in products and market development, as well as the ability to turn insights into concrete business opportunities.
To succeed in the role, we see that you:
- Are accustomed to negotiating and building long-term supplier relationships
- Have good business understanding and experience working with profitability, pricing, and assortment management
- Are structured and accustomed to working in a data-driven manner
- Have good analytical skills and experience handling large amounts of information
- Have very good knowledge of Excel and business systems
- Communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
- Are relationship-building and thrive on collaborating across organizational boundaries
Experience from retail, wholesale, or the supplier side within EL, Plumbing, Sundries, or Protection (PSU) is an advantage.

Location: Nearest office preferably near Grästorp, Ulricehamn, Gothenburg, Malmö, or Stockholm
