About the job

The Housing and Homelessness department has been tasked with ensuring that 80% of our apartments within the housing program are furnished, to guarantee good living conditions and quick move-in times for the people we serve.

As a Furniture Coordinator, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring that the apartments are furnished on time and according to plan by coordinating deliveries and involved parties. No two days are alike, and situations can change quickly, offering you the opportunity to use your creativity and find solutions to the challenges that arise during the workday. The position involves close collaboration with the operations team as well as suppliers.

Your workday varies between process management, result follow-up, administrative work, and operational execution, such as assembling and carrying furniture, picking up keys, and coordinating with various parties to ensure a smooth furnishing process. Since the process is new and under development, you will be the one to follow up on and create the process based on the needs within the Housing and Homelessness department. The role also includes collaborating with participants whose activity is to contribute to the furniture project. You meet our residents daily, many of whom may have harmful substance use, addictions, and co-occurring disorders.

About you

You must have at least a University College degree (YH) in social work or another education that the employer deems equivalent. It is a requirement for the position that you have experience with the processes of the housing and homelessness mandate. You must have the ability to drive processes, lead projects, and coordinate multiple collaborating parties regarding the furnishing of apartments. Additionally, you need work experience with the target group of housing and homelessness, including individuals with harmful substance use, addictions, and homelessness issues. A valid B-class driver's license is required. Experience in applying MI (Motivational Interviewing) is an advantage.

You adapt easily when things change. You can quickly shift your perspective and attitude, seeing opportunities in change.

You take responsibility for your own tasks as well as the group's collective tasks. You always keep the people we serve and their best interests in mind. You do your best to complete all tasks correctly and follow up on the results. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively, ensuring tasks are completed on time and following up on outcomes.

You are friendly and helpful towards others, even in stressful situations. You show respect to everyone you meet at work. You are inviting and positive. You work to ensure that the student/client/patient receives what they need. You collaborate well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the shared mission and work to make it as successful as possible.
