Department for Functional Support is Hiring Personal Assistants

The Department for Functional Support is part of the Elderly Care and Social Services Administration. We are now looking for three personal assistants for permanent positions.

Job Responsibilities

Your task as a personal assistant is to support and assist a male person entitled to assistance in their daily life. The work includes helping with dressing and undressing, hygiene support, assistance during meals, daily chores, and delegated health and medical care tasks. You are the extended arm of the person entitled to assistance in everyday life, which is why it is important that you are sensitive to the individual's needs. The assignment also involves accompanying the person on various activities based on their interests, such as bathing, cycling, cooking, etc.

Your workplace will be based at the person entitled to assistance's home, centrally located in Mariestad, and the work is independent.

The positions are full-time permanent employment, and you will work according to a schedule with 24-hour shifts.

Start date: October 1st or as agreed.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for you who are trained as an assistant nurse (undersköterska), have studied child and youth care, or have another equivalent educational background.

It is an advantage if you have experience from the disability sector and possess knowledge about autism and delegated health and medical care tasks. Knowledge and experience in PECS (TAKK) and low-arousal approaches are also considered advantageous.

As a personal assistant in this assignment, you need to be secure and clear in your professional role. You are sensitive to the person's needs and interests and act calmly and pedagogically. We also wish for you to be physically strong, able to work in a motivating manner, and preferably hold a B driving license.

We expect you to have good proficiency in both speaking and writing Swedish, as well as digital maturity, as our documentation is important.
