About the Unit

The Employment Unit, which is part of the Division for Adult Education and Employment, has the task of creating conditions and facilitating entry into the labor market for residents who, for various reasons, do not have a job, in collaboration with authorities, the municipality, and the business community. The interventions primarily target job-seeking youth, social assistance recipients, long-term unemployed, individuals with disabilities, and residents born outside the Nordic countries.

Responsibilities

The Employment Unit consists of 30 employees with roles such as employment consultant, work coach, occupational therapist, and coordinator for the Municipal Activity Responsibility (KAA). The unit's mission is to map, investigate, and strengthen individuals' work capacity to help them increase their chances of finding employment or education based on their prerequisites.

From July 1, 2026, the Employment Unit will be responsible for the municipality's interventions within the Activity Requirement.

The Activity Requirement means that individuals receiving social assistance must participate in activities designated by the municipality to retain their benefits. The purpose is to strengthen opportunities for work or education. Activities can include group activities, individual coaching, language support, competence-building measures, work training, internships, or supported employment.

We therefore need to strengthen our team with more employees and are looking for two Employment Consultants.

You will conduct individual interviews and lead group activities in areas related to work and study preparation, as well as health-promoting activities. You will coordinate internships/work training and other contacts as needed.

The work includes follow-up in close collaboration with our commissioning agencies: Social Services, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, and the Swedish Public Employment Service.

Qualifications

You must have relevant experience in mentoring, preparing, and developing people in vulnerable groups, along with an academic university education with a behavioral science focus or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. Experience/knowledge within the labor market sector and from authorities such as the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, or Social Services is meritorious for this position.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and are looking for someone who can build good relationships through respectful treatment of others. You will work with people of all ages. You should have the ability to handle rapid changes and possess a solution-focused and salutogenic approach. You thrive working both independently and in a team, and you drive your work forward. You have good skills and experience in motivational work with people from diverse backgrounds and origins.

You should have good verbal and written communication skills and a willingness to contribute to the development of an operation that is constantly changing.

A valid Category B driver's license is required.

Type of employment: Permanent position.
