About the Role
We are looking for someone who is at the beginning of their career and is interested in contributing to Sida's development cooperation within migration and return. Do you find new challenges exciting and want to work in a dynamic team? Welcome to the Migration Team at the Peace and Migration Unit at Sida! We are looking for two new colleagues for the autumn.
Our mission is to implement and answer the goals in Sweden's strategy for development cooperation within migration, return, and voluntary repatriation 2024-2028. The focus of the role is to process initiatives within the framework of the strategy. We collaborate with international and Swedish organizations and authorities active in the migration field.
You will be part of a team that works closely together, as well as having very close cooperation with colleagues at Swedish embassies abroad as well as with other authorities active in the migration field. Our mission is focused on eight countries (Ethiopia and Somalia, Turkey, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, as well as in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan) and in prioritized so-called migration routes. The Peace and Migration Unit is part of the Global Division, which brings together global strategy and initiative management and works based on Sida's various thematic areas. The unit is also responsible for the implementation of Sweden's strategy for Peace, Security and Stabilization 2024-2028, through our Peace Team. We are a unit and have joint activities.
You work at our office in Rissne, Sundbyberg.
Responsibilities
- Process initiatives in accordance with Sida's rules for aid initiatives (planning, preparation, dialogue and follow-up, financial and other auditing as well as administration and closure).
- Contribute to the development of the joint portfolio, as well as contribute to analysis and reporting of results within the global migration strategy.
- Participate in the coordination of development cooperation within Sida and with the Swedish embassies abroad, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Justice.
- Contribute to other tasks occurring at the unit.

Qualifications
Education
- University degree or equivalent academic education in development issues, migration, or other related fields.
Languages
- Very good proficiency in Swedish and English.
Work Experience and Knowledge
- Good experience of international migration work.
- Operational experience in driving and processing projects, including assessment of collaborations with external partners in an international context.

- Have operational experience of international development cooperation in the field.
- Have experience of the countries or routes prioritized in the strategy.
- Have experience from different types of employers such as authorities, civil society, or multilateral actors.
Good to Know
The positions refer to:
- A permanent employment with immediate start. Probation period applies.
- A fixed-term employment until further notice, but for a maximum of 12 months. Immediate start.
Sida offers the possibility of remote work to some extent if it works for the operations.
