A little girl, barely two months old, is soon to come home to her family for the first time. Since her birth, she has been cared for at the hospital, and now her return home is being prepared together with the assistants who will become part of her daily life.

Here, you will become part of a completely newly formed assistant group. You will be involved in establishing routines and ensuring effective collaboration from the ground up, which requires you to be unpretentious, flexible, and contribute to a good atmosphere within the group.

The girl lives with her mother and father and three older siblings aged 2, 7, and 8 in central Bro. The family is warm and engaged, and life at home can sometimes be quite lively. If you enjoy being around children and thrive in an active family environment, you could become an important part of the girl's daily life.

About the assignment The assignment is medically complex and requires 24/7 supervision. The girl's tracheostomy means that there are always two assistants together — you are never solely responsible. Being a pair also places demands on teamwork: you take turns with certain tasks and perform others side by side, and you and your colleague need to communicate throughout the entire shift.

Your main responsibilities include monitoring the girl's breathing, caring for the tracheostomy and managing the tracheal cannula, performing suctioning, and providing nutrition via a nasal tube. These tasks are specialized and require focus and sustained attention throughout the work shift. Since the girl is susceptible to infections, strict hygiene and a clean environment around her are equally important parts of the job — they are prerequisites for keeping her safe and healthy. The medical care and daily caregiving are closely linked, and both aspects are essential to providing her with a good and secure life.

You will receive full training in all medical procedures at the New Karolinska Solna hospital and ongoing education throughout the assignment. Previous medical experience is not required — we train the right person.

Requirements

• You enjoy being around children

• You do not smoke

• You have good Swedish language skills (spoken and written)

The home is located close to both commuter trains and buses, so you do not need a driver's license for this assignment — you can easily commute to and from work using public transport.

About the employment We are looking for both those who want a fixed schedule and those who wish to work as hourly substitutes when needed. Working hours vary between day, evening, and night according to the schedule. Start date will be arranged with consideration for the girl's planned discharge from the hospital.

Before starting, you will begin with introductory shifts together with specialized care staff at LIVA at the New Karolinska Solna hospital, ensuring that you, as an assistant, have the best possible prerequisites for the girl's return home. Employment with Novum requires BankID, which you will also use in your role. A background check against the police's register of convictions will also be conducted prior to employment.
