About the Department

The Individual and Family Department in Tjörn Municipality is responsible for support and interventions for children, young people, and adults, as well as economic assistance, labor market initiatives, and integration. The department is characterized by close cooperation between units, where authority enforcement and open care exist side by side to create the best possible support.

The Children and Young People Unit consists of reception, investigative social secretaries, child secretaries, foster care secretaries, and family therapists. There is a strong commitment to children's rights, legally secure processing, and knowledge-based working methods.

The Social Office is located in the middle of Tjörn in Kållekärr, with good bus connections – and for those who commute by car, the journey is against the flow, meaning fewer queues and a smoother daily life.

About the Role

As a Foster Care Social Worker, you work with recruiting, investigating, and supervising foster homes, as well as following up on placements of children and young people.

The role includes:

• Recruiting and investigating foster homes, contact families, and contact persons
• Supporting and supervising foster homes in their tasks
• Following up on placements in close collaboration with child secretaries
• Contributing to safe and stable placements based on the best interests of the child
• Collaborating with children, parents, and other actors
• Documenting according to current legislation and guidelines

The work takes place in close collaboration both within the unit and with external partners to ensure quality and continuity in interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who:

• Have a degree in social work or other relevant higher education
• Have experience working with children and young people
• Have knowledge of current legislation (Social Services Act and Care of Young Persons Act)
• Have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing

It is meritorious if you have experience of:

• Foster care work or recruitment of service providers
• Authority enforcement within social services

EMPLOYMENT TERMS

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: As agreed.
