About the role and your responsibilities

As a primary school teacher in after-school care (fritidshem), you work pedagogically and socially based on the organization's goals and guidelines. You plan, conduct, and follow up on teaching in accordance with current regulatory documents and actively work to develop the after-school care activities. Together with the work team, you are responsible for creating a safe environment for the students, both during school hours and at the after-school center.

At Gunnesboskolan, students encounter station-based learning from preschool class out in the activities. Station-based learning contributes to varied and enjoyable teaching when students are not working on the same tasks for a whole lesson. Students are active throughout the entire lesson as they switch and work with different tasks. The natural movement breaks when changing stations make the students more enduring. We create smaller teaching groups where the teacher has time to see all students and has greater opportunities to reach out and provide support to all students.

The position includes tasks as a resource for a preschool class student during the school day.

We are looking for you

We are looking for you who are a certified primary school teacher in after-school care. Previous experience in the profession is advantageous.

To thrive and do a good job with us, you need to be flexible and have an easy time collaborating with both staff and students and guardians. You have experience meeting students with different linguistic backgrounds and varying prior knowledge. Previous experience working with students with NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) is highly advantageous.

In the role of a pedagogue, you are a clear leader and actively work to find different ways to create engagement and participation among your students. Your communication skills are very good, and you have well-functioning relationships with both students and guardians.

You are professional in your role and take responsibility for working with continuous improvements. You are comfortable using digital tools in teaching; the tool the students work with is the iPad.

About the workplace

Gunnesboskolan consists of two parts, Gunnesboskolan F–6 with after-school care and Gunnesboskolan 7–9. The F-6 part consists of two parallel classes and has approximately 300 students.

Gunnesboskolan is located in northern Lund and has good public transport connections. The train station is a few minutes' walk away. Bus connections are available right at the school.
