Bärstadsskolan opened in January 2015 and is a grades F-6 school with approximately 500 students distributed across three parallel classes. The schoolyard features swings, basketball hoops, and football goals. The school is divided into three buildings and six departments. Each department has its own home classroom and works age-homogeneously during the school day. Bärstadsskolan's after-school center is age-integrated into the school premises and divided into the Red, Yellow, and Orange departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher in the after-school center at Hammarö Municipality, you will have the opportunity to be a central part of the after-school center's work and contribute to a meaningful school day for the students. In this role, you will work together with other staff to plan, implement, and develop the activities based on our guiding documents and common goals. Your tasks during the school day may vary depending on your competence and the students' needs, making each day unique and developmental. You will have a shared role where you act as a resource in the classroom and work with individual students with special needs.

You will be part of a work team where you are expected to contribute a solution-oriented and results-focused approach, always with the students' needs in focus. In close collaboration with colleagues, you will actively work to create an accessible and inclusive learning environment for all students.

In your role, you will use and evaluate different pedagogical methods to promote development and learning, while also seeking new strategies to meet each individual's needs and strengthen their knowledge-based and personal development.

We are looking for someone who is mission-aware and self-reliant, with a strong ability to build trusting relationships with both students, guardians, and colleagues. Good knowledge of students with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPD/ADHD/ASD) is required.

As part of Hammarö Municipality, you will also have access to support and development through our After-School Center Developer, who leads quality work, arranges network meetings, and is responsible for joint meetings for all after-school centers within the municipality.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a flexible and engaged teacher with a pedagogical degree and a focus on after-school care.

You must be able to translate curriculum goals into high-quality teaching and use an exploratory approach that promotes inclusive practice. We value good collaboration skills and a willingness to actively contribute to school development work. Your ability to be flexible, meet changes and challenges, and adapt teaching to students' needs and prerequisites is crucial in our work to create an accessible learning environment.

You are stable in your values and have a good understanding of the school's mission. As a clear and positive leader in the group of children, you can create a safe and inviting learning environment where curiosity and warmth permeate the work. Your leadership is characterized by flexibility and the ability to quickly adapt to changed needs in both teaching and work processes.

We are looking for someone who is analytical and has the ability to plan, implement, follow up, and evaluate both the content of the activities and your teaching. You also have a commitment to constantly developing and adapting methods to meet students' individual needs.

At Bärstadsskolan, we are a training school, and we expect you to undergo the supervisor training at Karlstad University (KAU) if you have not already done so.

Experience from working in preschool class, after-school center, and primary school is meritorious.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and would like you to describe in your application and any interviews how you handle meetings with students, your leadership, and your collaboration with colleagues.

If you are considered for the position, you must be able to show a valid teaching license as well as an extract from the criminal record register. Permanent employment assumes that you have the correct qualifications as an after-school pedagogue.
