RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of teacher for the preschool class, you work to give students a good start in life in Eda Municipality and to lay the foundation for lifelong learning. The activities in the preschool class are governed by the Education Act and the curriculum. As a preschool teacher, you are responsible for promoting student development and learning during their time in the preschool class. You will work together with your colleagues in the F-3 team.

As a preschool teacher, you have the main pedagogical responsibility in the preschool class. With the curriculum as a starting point, all preschool teachers at the unit are responsible for implementing the governing documents in daily work. In daily work with students, there is a special focus on ensuring that all students are stimulated in their language development. This involves contact with guardians, as well as planning, implementation, documentation, follow-up, and evaluation of activities according to decided goals and guidelines.

As a preschool teacher, you are responsible for:

• linguistic, mathematical, scientific, technical, and aesthetic learning and development.
• work with practical forms of expression such as art, music, and drama, where movement, play, and interaction are in focus.
• planning teaching, with the help of others in the team, based on the curriculum for the preschool class.
• creating opportunities for exploration, play, and learning where students' influence is given room.
• student learning and development with a special focus on reading, writing, and mathematics learning.
• theme-based work based on a red thread and progression through the activities over a longer period.
• contact, dialogue, and cooperation with guardians regarding influence in the student's daily life in the preschool class.
• implementing pedagogical adjustments in the student group's physical, pedagogical, and social learning environments.
• making adjustments based on the student group's different needs or to stimulate students in need of special support in the right way.
• cooperating with other teams at the unit and professions within and outside the activity.
• ensuring students' needs are respected and met, and that they experience their own worth.
• applying a democratic working method where students actively participate,
• actively including a gender equality perspective so that all students have equal opportunities for expanded perspectives and choices.
• developing norms and attitudes for work and coexistence in the student group based on the curriculum's value base.
• creating a professional attitude in the team through active employee participation.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a degree from the preschool teacher program or are awaiting your preschool teacher authorization with eligibility to teach in preschool/preschool class. Merit points are given if you have previous work experience from similar work within preschool, or equivalent work with children in preschool or school. You should be well acquainted with, have knowledge of, and work to realize the goals of the curriculum. You have experience with and mastery of digital tools in your work. Furthermore, you have a good ability to express yourself in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing, based on the preschool's documentation requirements. It is desirable if you can handle Edlevo and have worked with systematic quality work. Experience with language and knowledge-developing working methods is seen as meritorious.

You are organized and structured, as well as driven in your professional role, and have a strong drive to keep the development of the pedagogical environment alive. Your focus on children is clear and is reflected in your attitude in everyday life. In the role of preschool teacher, you have a strong will and great initiative in working to improve and develop activities based on set goals. You are open to learning from and together with other colleagues. You have the ability to cooperate and dare to challenge yourself and your colleagues in the work with children. In cooperation with others, you have an unpretentious attitude and focus on the common goal in the activity.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-08-11. Start on the specified date or by agreement. Probation period 6 months. Extract from the criminal record must be received before employment can start, end: 2027-06-16.
