Spanish Teacher for Nordmarkens School in Årjäng

Nordmarkens School is located in the southern part of Årjäng's urban area and is the municipality's largest school. It is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) with approximately 700 students and over 100 staff members. The school campus comprises three different buildings, two of which are relatively new. One building is for grades 1-6, one for grades 7-9, and one for preschool class, after-school care, and preparatory classes.

The lower secondary school is the municipality's only lower secondary school, with approximately 330 students in grades 7-9. The school was built in 2015, and every student has access to their own computer. The students at the school represent a cross-section of our society, and approximately 60 staff members work at the school. Teaching should be adapted to the students' needs, and the staff have high expectations that students will achieve good results.

We have a well-functioning support system aimed at identifying students quickly and providing support early on. The school has special needs teachers, special educators, counselors, school nurses, study and career counselors, and through the student health service, access to school psychologists and school doctors is available.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an engaged and knowledgeable Spanish teacher for grades 6-9 who wants to become part of Nordmarkens School. Mentorship duties are included.

As a Spanish teacher with us, you will work in a well-organized work team with a strong focus on collaboration and support, both within Spanish and with other subject colleagues. You play an important role in supporting students' development, both linguistically and socially. Creativity and cultural creation are a natural part of our school's value base, and we see it as a shared responsibility to create an environment where students thrive and reach their full potential.

It may possibly be combined with another subject.

Qualifications

  • Teaching license with eligibility to teach Spanish in grades 6-9
  • Good knowledge of the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking culture
  • Experience of teaching in primary school is meritorious
  • Ability to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Good teamwork skills and experience working in subject and work teams
  • Interest in developing teaching with the support of digital tools
  • Commitment to students' knowledge development and well-being
  • A valid B driver's license is required as some teaching takes place at another school in the municipality

Meritorious:

  • Experience and knowledge of ADHD/ASD (NPF).
