Description

Ferlinskolan grades 7-9 in Filipstad is looking for an engaged and analytical special needs educator who can contribute to strengthening our students' knowledge and increasing their goal achievement. The special needs educator also works together with our newly hired school social worker to increase student attendance and thereby improve their goal achievement.

As a special needs educator, you will become a central part of our student health team and work both preventively and promotingly by observing, mapping, analyzing, and supporting students and guardians to find solutions that lead to higher goal achievement for our students.

Our school is located in the central part of Filipstad and offers both regular school and adapted school for grades 7–9. There are approximately 300 students at the school and we have around 45 employees.

Our school is multicultural with students who care about each other. We place great emphasis on good relationships between students and adults at the school.

Responsibilities

You will have significant responsibility for compiling and following up on student results and finding relevant interventions at both individual and group levels. You will also have extensive contact with guardians, including participating in and often convening meetings with students and guardians. Some teaching with individual students or small groups will also occur. As a special needs educator, you will also be out in the classroom to observe and provide guidance. Administrative tasks such as investigations and action plans are part of the role.

You will also help with the structure, implementation, and follow-up of the school's quality assurance (a common plan exists for the municipality).

You are also an important part of the school's Student Health Team (EHT), which consists of the Principal/Deputy Principal, school nurse, counselor, school social worker, and special needs educator.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching license for primary school grades 7-9 (we prefer that you have worked as a teacher or special needs educator in these grades previously) as well as a special teacher or special needs education degree. Previous work as a special needs educator or special teacher in lower secondary school is meritorious. Previous experience in working with result compilation, result analysis, and teacher guidance is also seen as meritorious. As a special needs educator, you need to have a good ability to handle different people, collaborate, and cooperate. You need to have administrative skills and good knowledge in analysis work.

As a person, we place great emphasis on you being flexible and structured with good collaboration skills. You easily create relationships with both students, guardians, and colleagues. You have your own drive where you structure your work clearly and well and work to achieve the school's common goals.

We expect you to contribute with engagement, a professional attitude, and that you take initiative to constantly develop yourself and the operations. We place great emphasis on social competence and personal suitability.

Collaboration and Preventive Work

• Participate in Student Health Team meetings and contribute with professional assessments regarding measures and adjustments.
• Support teachers and mentors in the work with attendance, approach, and relationships.
• Contribute to developing the school's routines and working methods for increased school attendance.

Requirements

• Has education as a teacher grades 7-9 and special needs education education.
• Has experience in student support work or work with children and young people in need of support.
• Has good ability to analyze patterns, structure information, and follow up on interventions.
• Is relationship-building, stable, and clear in communication with both students and adults.
• Thrives in a role where you combine practical student-oriented work with administration and analysis.
• Meritorious: education in and previous experience working with LOGOS, ITBA, Adler, etc.
• Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Conditions

For this position, presenting a valid extract from the police criminal record is a prerequisite for employment. Upon offer of employment, it is mandatory to undergo a pre-employment health examination at the occupational health service.
