What we offer you
Bålbroskolan is a newly built F-3 school (preschool class to grade 3) with four year-group-based work teams. Our intention is for a core staff group to largely follow the students from preschool class through to grade 3. You will be part of a work team with after-school care and school staff, supporting each other in the various operational tasks to provide students with everything they need to succeed in their schooling. The work is carried out jointly by the department staff and is led by an after-school care teacher who ensures that the intentions of the curriculum are followed. We place great emphasis on everyone in the department taking joint responsibility for the mission.
You will have planning time every week with the department, a morning meeting once a week with school and after-school care, and an evening meeting every month dedicated to school and after-school care topics.
We offer a wide range of benefits related to activities, well-being, insurance, pension, and vacation: Our Benefits (#).
The Role
As a Childcare Assistant (Barnskötare) at Bålbroskolan, you work with students from a whole-day perspective, where after-school time and the school day complement each other. You are part of the child's success, progress, and well-being. You are involved in planning, implementing, developing, and following up on teaching in the school based on the needs of the child group, the after-school care's mission according to Lgr 22, and the administration's quality work. You also actively contribute to safe, fun, and developmental breaks.
The role involves sometimes working in the classroom to support teaching and individual student needs. You also work on the after-school care department and, together with colleagues, ensure that students receive what the after-school care's mission, according to regulatory documents, intends to offer them. The work requires collaboration with all competencies within the school, high expectations of broad responsibility, and a student perspective based on the curriculum's intentions that value every child's best interests.
The after-school care is open from 06:00 to 18:00. We have evening meetings every month where we work until 18:30. Your schedule may vary within the entire opening hours.
Challenges and Opportunities
Having many staff members in a work team can be both a challenge and a strength. You need to enjoy working together with others to achieve common goals and thrive at Bålbroskolan. You will gain a work community and an after-school care environment that cares about providing students with the foundations to succeed throughout their entire schooling and offering them opportunities for lifelong learning and well-being. Being part of that journey and making an impact is, in our opinion, the best work you can do.
