ABOUT THE ROLE:

Our client is an established technology company developing advanced products and system solutions for international customers. The company operates in a technically complex environment where electronics, mechatronics, and software collaborate to create robust and future-proof solutions.

We are now looking for a Hardware Lead who wants to take a leading responsibility for hardware-related issues in a team working with mechatronic solutions, where the products include actuators, electric motors, and sensors. In this role, you will work closely with system engineers, system architects, and specialists in areas such as EMC and functional safety.

In the role, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving hardware-related issues from requirement specification to implementation.
  • Identifying which components and technical solutions are needed based on product requirements.
  • Making strategic decisions related to hardware design and future product development.
  • Leading and supporting implementation together with internal teams and external partners.
  • Working with EMC issues, FMEA analyses, functional safety, and sensor technology.
  • Participating in testing and verification of early designs.
  • Maintaining ongoing contact with international colleagues and customers, for example in Canada, China, and Norway.

The role is both technically deep and strategic. You will not only work on detailed implementation but are also expected to keep a broader perspective, understand the big picture, and make decisions that affect future products and technical choices.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO:
  • Have a relevant education in areas such as electronics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or similar, or equivalent knowledge through work experience.
  • Have several years of work experience from hardware design, electronics design, or system-near hardware development.
  • Have experience with requirement specification and technical requirement flows.
  • Have very good skills in English, both spoken and written.

We believe that you, as an applicant, have worked a few years in hardware design or a similar role and have since moved towards a more system-near, strategic, or leading role. You have a good technical understanding, but also the ability to see the whole picture and make well-founded decisions based on both technical requirements and future product needs.

As a person, you are driven, responsible, and confident in technical discussions. You are used to meeting with international contacts and have the ability to communicate clearly even when the issues are complex. At the same time, you are receptive, a good listener, and understand that decisions can be influenced by different cultures, perspectives, and ways of working. To thrive in this role, we believe you are motivated by taking ownership, creating structure, and driving technical issues forward in close collaboration with others.

ABOUT THE EMPLOYMENT:

This is a consultancy assignment, which means that you will initially be employed by Friday, with the plan and ambition from both us and the client company that you will eventually be hired directly by the client.
