Job Description

Do you have extensive experience with consolidated financial statements in the municipal sector and are driven by developing processes and system support? We are currently looking for a Senior Economist for a qualified and development-oriented consulting assignment with one of our clients.

Background to the need:

Our client, a large public organization, has an increased need for quality assurance, structure, and development of their working methods within group accounting. The organization is also preparing to evaluate and implement new system support for handling consolidated financial statements.

The purpose of the assignment is to ensure the highest quality according to current regulations, reduce vulnerability, and build internal competence for the future.

Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Consultant, you will work both operationally and advisory. Your main areas of responsibility are divided into two main tracks:

Consolidated Financial Statements

• Prepare and support work with consolidated financial statements during interim and annual closing.
• Ensure compliance with LKBR (Swedish Municipal Accounting Standards) and RKR (Recommendations and General Guidelines for Municipal and Regional Accounting).
• Quality assure and structure the collection of data from companies and operations.
• Develop and document routines, templates, and working methods.
• Contribute to improved analysis, note disclosures, and support the finance function in group matters.

Implementation of System Support

• Participate in requirements specification, evaluation, and implementation of the new system support.
• Contribute to the design of processes and working methods related to the system.
• Conduct testing, quality assurance, and support implementation and documentation.
• Drive change management and knowledge transfer related to the new working methods.

Qualifications

To succeed in this assignment, you must have strong analytical skills, be structured, and have good experience driving change.

Requirements:

• Documented experience with consolidated financial statements/group accounting.
• Several years of experience in qualified accounting work.
• Good knowledge of LKBR and RKR.
• Experience working within municipal operations.
• Experience working in major financial systems.

Merits:

• Experience implementing system support for group accounting.
• Experience with Unit4 ERP.
• Experience leading or driving development work within accounting.
