Property Caretaker / Facilities Technician

We are looking for an independent, responsible, and practical employee with broad experience in property maintenance and service work. You should have a good eye for detail and work proactively to identify needs and solve problems before they impact operations.

About the Role

As the responsible person for the facility, you have overall responsibility for the institution's property maintenance and local care. You work proactively with supervision, preventive maintenance, and practical measures to ensure that the facility's premises, equipment, and outdoor environment maintain a high standard.

You will also collaborate closely with the institution's security officer and form an important part of the preventive security work and Systematic Fire Protection Work (SBA). Through your daily presence in the operation, you contribute to identifying risks, correcting deficiencies, and ensuring that premises, furnishings, and security functions meet the operation's requirements for safety and security for young people and staff.

The role requires the ability to identify needs, prioritize efforts, and drive the work forward independently. You will also collaborate with external suppliers and contractors and be responsible for following up on fault reports and measures.

Typical tasks may include:

• Regular supervision of premises, furnishings, and equipment
• Performing preventive maintenance to reduce operational disruptions and security risks
• Security and SBA rounds for doors, locks, lighting, smoke detectors, etc.
• Filing fault reports for larger maintenance needs and following up on these
• Collaborating with contractors, suppliers, and other external actors
• Handling chemical-technical products
• Purchasing consumables
• Responsibility for the institution's vehicles

Qualifications

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

• Experience in property maintenance, caretaking, i.e., simpler construction, plumbing, carpentry, and repair work.
• Experience in occupational health and safety work to perform preventive maintenance and identify the need for measures.
• Experience in local care and chemical-technical products.
• Experience in purchasing, warehousing, and handling of consumable materials.
• Good administrative skills and experience in documenting and formulating clear fault reports, etc.
• Ability to plan, structure, and independently drive tasks from start to finish.
• Good collaboration skills and experience working with contractors, suppliers, and other external actors.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Category B driver's license (required).

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience from public sector operations, institutional care, or other operations with high demands on safety, structure, and documentation.
• Experience in project management or responsibility for contractors.
• Knowledge within plumbing, construction, facility technology, Hot Work, SBA.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probation period. Start date by agreement.
