Energy and Sustainability Manager / Installation Coordinator at Järfälla Municipality

Järfälla is located two miles northwest of Stockholm City Centre, with approximately 90,000 inhabitants. Although the big city is close – only 20 minutes by commuter train or car to Stockholm C – most amenities are within the municipality. The Urban Planning Administration in Järfälla Municipality has a broad mandate, responsible for everything from the early stages of the urban planning process to operations and management. We are over 320 employees working together for the operations under the Environmental and Building Permit Board, the Technical Board, and the Municipal Executive Board. Järfälla is an expanding municipality; we are growing both geographically and organizationally.

The Property Department consists of about 50 employees and is responsible for approximately 430,000 m² of premises, including schools, preschools, cultural and sports facilities, as well as care and housing for the elderly. Of this, over 100,000 m² are rented premises and apartments distributed across nearly 200 agreements. We need to recruit an Energy and Sustainability Manager.

The municipality has high environmental ambitions with a strong focus on environment, sustainability, and carbon dioxide emissions, including reuse and circularity.

About the Department

The department consists of three units: the Administration Unit, the Property Project Management Unit, and the Customer and Technical Unit. We work with all types of projects, such as maintenance projects, installation projects, renovation projects, local adaptations, expansion projects, and new production.

In our unit, we work together as a team and solve problems together – no one is better than anyone else. We are constantly working on improvements and fine-tuning our processes.

Responsibilities

The Property Department is responsible for the municipality's construction projects. The operations have a strong focus on economy, quality, and continuous efficiency improvements. You will become part of an experienced and cohesive unit with project managers, installation coordinators, and project coordinators, as well as access to several experts within the department.

As an Installation Coordinator, you are engaged and will provide suggestions and solutions. Communication is an important tool where you need the skill to handle clients, consultants, and contractors in their own language within construction contexts. It also involves being a good colleague who listens and shares experiences.

Are you the person with a technical interest who can dig deep and learn new products or systems when they become relevant in our projects? Who wants to know more about how things work? Who can see the practical aspects of how our systems can function together? Who is not afraid to open the equipment cabinet to see what it looks like, but also how our installations are presented in our overarching system when completed?

As an Installation Coordinator, you will among other things:

• Specify requirements and lead installation coordination in construction projects.
• Be part of the project team and support project managers in construction projects.
• Review and plan installations and ensure functionality between different installations.
• Participate in meetings with project managers and consultants.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who have:

• Upper secondary education.
• Preferably several years of experience as an installation coordinator.
• Good knowledge of all installations and systems in a building.
• Experience from construction projects.
• Preferably experience from public procurement.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• IT skills, preferably extended knowledge of IT and IT communication.
• Class B driver's license.
• BAS-P/BAS-U (Swedish construction industry safety certificates).

Meritorious:

• Knowledge of CAD and/or 3D design.
• Knowledge of DUC and PLC systems and overarching systems.
• Knowledge of detection technology, sensors, and bus/network communication.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for you who are structured, stable, and creative. You have good cooperation skills and enjoy working together with others in a project format.
