About the role
As a field technician, you are responsible for project deliveries and system updates for major players in the grocery retail sector. You are part of a team focused on upgrading operating systems and deploying hardware in store environments. The primary focus is system updates to Windows on smart cabinets and scales.
The role involves significant travel as you visit stores in Stockholm and the surrounding area, stretching from Strängnäs in the west to Norrtälje in the north. Since you work from home and cover a large geographical area, you are required to have your own car for the job. You work completely independently after thorough on-site training!

The position is a consultancy assignment through us at Academic Work, meaning you are employed by us but work on-site at our client's premises.
Responsibilities
The role involves traveling to various stores in the region to perform technical upgrades and installations, acting as the link between software and physical hardware.
- Perform operating system updates on smart cabinets and scales
- Install, deploy, and adapt physical equipment at the customer site
- Perform logical troubleshooting and document completed work carefully
- Communicate and collaborate with staff and IT technicians on-site
- Plan and structure your own working day for efficient deliveries
- Handle logistical challenges and find practical solutions in the store environment
We are looking for you who
- Have a Category B driver's license and access to your own car
- Have good knowledge of Swedish
- Have a good understanding of software and system logic
- Are hands-on and enjoy physical work in varying environments
- Have strong analytical skills and are skilled at seeing connections and solving logical problems
It is an advantage if you have
- Education or experience in ICT, automation, or technical fields
- Experience with installation, upgrading, or configuring technical equipment
To succeed in the role, you have the following personal qualities:
