The Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV) is Sweden's authority for intellectual property rights, responsible for patents, trademarks, and designs. We examine and register rights and work to increase knowledge about intellectual assets and their importance for innovation and business.

Our mission is to contribute to Sweden's growth and competitiveness by helping companies, innovators, and organizations protect and develop their ideas. We are also the supervisory authority for the collective management of copyright and operate in close cooperation with both national and international actors.

PRV has approximately 300 employees and operations in Stockholm and Söderhamn, with competencies ranging from engineers and lawyers to IT specialists.

The Secretariat is responsible for supporting the Director General and the authority's management in the strategic steering of PRV's operations. The unit coordinates work within several central functions – chief legal counsel, security manager, environmental analysis and statistics, international coordination, and management support – thereby serving as a hub for the authority's overall steering and coordination. Through its work, the Secretariat contributes to a cohesive and strategically managed authority leadership, with a focus on legal certainty, security, and efficient decision-making.

Through the function for environmental analysis and statistics, the Secretariat contributes to ensuring that PRV's management and operations have a well-founded basis for decision-making based on analyses of trends, environmental changes, and international development patterns. The function participates in PRV's international contacts and collaborations within the field of intellectual property.

The unit is also responsible for planning and implementing the Director General's activities, as well as coordinating and preparing secretariat meetings, DG briefings, and meetings in the authority's management group.

Job Responsibilities

As an analyst at the Secretariat, you will contribute to strengthening PRV's strategic steering through qualified analyses of statistics, environmental changes, and development trends within business, innovation, intellectual property, and public administration. The role involves producing decision support materials for the Director General, the management group, and operations, as well as identifying connections between national goals, the authority's mission, and developments in the external environment.

You will work with analyzing data from PRV's operations together with statistics from, for example, SCB, Tillväxtanalys, Tillväxtverket, Vinnova, OECD, EUIPO, EPO, WIPO, and other national and international actors. The analyses should contribute to identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and future needs that may affect PRV's operations and the Swedish innovation system.
