We are looking for an experienced accounting consultant with an audit background for a position with a large organization in Stockholm.

The assignment involves strengthening the organization's accounting function before and during the annual closing, as well as when preparing annual reports for the group and its subsidiaries. The consultant will contribute both strategically and operationally to ensure an efficient closing process, high quality in deliverables, and adherence to established timelines.

Key responsibilities include supporting the planning and monitoring of the closing process, identifying risks and critical dependencies, developing templates and checklists, and quality-assuring accounting principles, documentation, and supporting documents prior to audit. The consultant is also expected to work hands-on with reconciliations, annual reports, group accounting, and system-related tasks linked to closing and reporting.

The assignment requires a good understanding of Swedish accounting standards, preferably K3, as well as experience with complex organizations, group structures, VAT issues, and collaboration with external auditors. The consultant must be self-sufficient, structured, and proactive, with the ability to work closely with the business and contribute to improved working methods and knowledge transfer.

The position is full-time and based in Stockholm, with some possibility of hybrid work after the introductory period, depending on the business's needs.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in accounting. You have at least 5–10 years of experience in qualified accounting work, including several years working with annual closings and group accounting. Experience from the non-profit sector or public sector, where both associations and companies are involved, is important. You have also worked in organizations with complex group structures.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards. You have excellent knowledge of Swedish accounting principles according to K3 as well as regulations concerning non-profit associations. You are well-versed in VAT issues, including the handling of VAT flat rates in mixed activities, and corporate taxation for relevant business forms.
• Strong system proficiency. You have documented experience with financial and consolidation systems equivalent to UNIT4 FPM, Capego, Business Central, and Mercur Solutions. You adapt easily to new systems and can quickly become productive in a new system environment.
• Experience in project management and collaboration. You have a good ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work in time-pressured environments, as well as experience leading or supporting projects with clear deadlines. You collaborate effectively with both internal finance and accounting functions and external auditors, communicating clearly even during periods of high workload.
• High quality awareness. You work carefully and systematically, have an eye for detail, and can quickly identify risks, deviations, and areas for improvement in financial material. You are solution-oriented and take initiative to ensure correct deliverables with high quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience working in financial and business systems.
• Previous experience from audit activities.
• Experience from personnel-intensive service organizations.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
