You will be part of the Land and Water Protection unit. Together, we are responsible for areas such as water activities, water protection areas, the national plan for environmentally friendly hydropower, and remediation of contaminated sites. About the job

You will be part of a working group dealing with water issues. You will handle notifications regarding water activities according to the Environmental Code. Supervision and permit assessments of water activities will also be part of your duties. You will process cases of both a simpler and more complex nature. The focus of the position will be adapted to your competence and the needs of the operations.

The tasks are a mix of case processing and field work, with office work being predominant. It is independent work where you are responsible for your cases, while we are a team that helps each other and makes assessments together. In your work, you will have many contacts with private individuals, companies, and municipalities. This means many interactions with the public and operators, and you enjoy leading dialogues even in situations that require clarity, sensitivity, and respectful treatment.

The work is constantly evolving, and based on our mandate, tasks may change over time. Therefore, you must be able to handle change. This also gives you opportunities to develop and both broaden and deepen your competence with us.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

• An academic education with a technical or scientific focus, for example in environmental and health protection, or other relevant education and/or experience that we assess as equivalent for the position.
• Since the work involves frequent contacts both internally and externally, it is important that you express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

As a person, you take responsibility for the organization's goals in your work. You are structured, capable of working independently, and taking initiative. Furthermore, you have a good manner and are easy to work with, both with colleagues and external parties, while maintaining high integrity.

We consider it meritorious if you have:

• Experience in processing cases under the Environmental Code and assessing questions based on current laws, regulations, and practice.
• Experience in supervision work within the scope of the Environmental Code.
• Relevant work experience from work at a County Administrative Board, another authority, or a municipality.

Good to know

The position is a fixed-term employment for six months. Selection and interviews take place in August. Start date as soon as possible according to agreement.

If you are called for an interview, you may be asked to complete a work sample test.

Since some jobs with us require security clearance, you may undergo a security clearance before employment. This includes a security clearance interview and register check. Swedish citizenship is required for some positions.
