At Labatus, we are now looking for a senior developer in simulation and modeling who wants to take a central role in our most technically challenging assignments.

Working with simulation and modeling assignments through Labatus

As a simulation developer with us, you work on assignments where modeling and simulation are a crucial part of system development. This can involve:

• Modeling of dynamic systems
• Development of simulation frameworks and tools
• Real-time simulation and system-near development
• Development of methodology for verification and validation
• Integration between software, hardware, and control systems
• Prototypes, demonstrators, and technical studies

Our assignments are within several technology-intensive industries – for example, defense, vehicles, autonomous systems, industry, and advanced training or visualization environments.

In some assignments, a background in game development, game engines, or 3D environments is very valuable – especially where real-time performance, physics engines, or interactive environments are central.

Since some of our partners where assignments occur operate in industries where security vetting is required, the recruitment process may in some cases include security vetting.

Technology and Environments

Depending on the assignment, you may work in environments that include:

• C / C++
• Python
• Matlab / Simulink
• Real-time systems
• Fortran or Ada (in certain domains)
• Unity, Unreal, or other visualization engines
• GPU programming (CUDA/OpenCL)
• Distributed simulation standards (e.g., HLA/DDS)

The most important thing is not exactly which tools you have used – but that you have a strong foundation in system understanding, mathematical models, and robust software design.

Who we think you are

We are looking for you who have at least 1–2 years of experience in simulation, technical calculation, or system-near development.

You:

• Have a Master of Science or Bachelor of Science degree in, for example, technical physics, computer science, aerospace engineering, mechatronics, or similar
• Have experience with C/C++ or similar languages
• Have worked with modeling, simulation, or real-time systems
• Like to understand systems deeply – not just write code
• Are structured, analytical, and quality-conscious
• Thrive in teams and are happy to contribute with technical leadership

It is meritorious if you have experience from game development, physics engines, or advanced 3D visualization – but it is not a requirement.
