Job Description

SiS Youth Home Johannisberg in Kalix is seeking treatment assistants for casual positions who want to support change in a young person's life.

SiS Youth Home Johannisberg is a high-security institution beautifully located next to the Kalix River, adjacent to the quiet residential area of Grytnäs. The institution is in a phase of development and expansion, with ongoing work to increase staffing and security. Our target group in Kalix consists of boys aged 16-21 placed according to the Act on Closed Youth Care and the Act for the Care of Young People. All our work is permeated by our core values: Respect, Care, and Clarity. Even as a casual employee, you are offered a thorough introduction with supervision and further training in areas such as security, prohibited substances, conflict management, CPR, and more.

As a treatment assistant, you work in a team on the ward together with competent colleagues who are waiting for you to become part of the team. Daily work involves building safe relationships and motivating our young people towards new and less risky ways of living. You play a vital role in the stability of our young people and form the foundation of daily life with school attendance, activities, cooking, and cleaning. As a treatment assistant, you also contribute to maintaining security on the institution according to our guidelines and routines.

As a casual employee, you work when needs arise. You register your availability in our staffing system, Netwic, and are booked based on your availability. In this way, you create the flexibility you need between work and leisure. The shifts you can register availability for vary from day, evening, weekend, and night shifts. Casual work at SiS provides you, if you are studying to become a social pedagogue or pursuing other post-secondary education with a focus on psychology, sociology, or pedagogy, with valuable experiences and knowledge for your future career. Qualifications

We are looking for you who have the ability to build trusting relationships with our young people. You have a positive view of people, and your driving force is to work with young people. As a person, you relate to others in a listening and flexible manner, while also being able to set boundaries and follow decisions made. You are secure, stable, and have the ability to maintain a professional attitude even in pressurized situations. You work well with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

You must also have:

• At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
• Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing
• Good physical fitness

*Exceptions to the requirement of at least two years of post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468). To make an exception, a high school diploma and relevant work experience are required. Please attach high school grades and/or degree certificates for post-secondary education to your application. Degree certificates issued in another country must be translated and validated in Sweden via the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR).

Meritorious:

• Experience from working with people in vulnerable life situations, for example within prison services, psychiatry, care and support, or equivalent
• Category B driver's license
