Do you want to make a difference in people's journey toward self-sufficiency? Here you have the opportunity to work on development and collaboration together with engaged colleagues in an environment where trust, structure, and hope for the future are in focus!
The mission of the Competence Supply Office is to highlight the future workforce and be an active part in solving Norrköping's competence supply needs. With our shared resources and professional competence, we are a central party internally and externally for society's growth and the individual's development.
We design effective and flexible education based on competence supply needs and career changes in working life, with interventions for those who are far from the labor market. We give our residents the opportunity to grow and develop, where the path to self-sufficiency should be as short as possible. This increases the quality of life for residents, where more people take responsibility and contribute to a sustainable future.
Competence supply is the word that unites us in our mission in all the operations we work for. Within the office, we are approximately 400 employees responsible for support according to the Social Services Act, municipal labor market measures, budget and debt counseling, as well as adult education from SFI to university college. We are administrative support to the Competence Supply Board.
This position is located within Economic Assistance but belongs to the Service and Investigation unit – a unit that plays a central role in meeting the individual early. Here we offer service and guidance in connection with applications for economic assistance, investigate the right to assistance according to the Social Services Act, handle urgent cases, and refer to other existing support within the municipality's operations.
As a social secretary with us, you meet people in different life situations, often at an early stage. You provide support in the application process, investigate the right to economic assistance, and make decisions according to the Social Services Act.
The work also includes handling urgent cases, such as assistance in case of food shortage, threats of eviction, or electricity disconnection, as well as following up decisions made by the social emergency service.
You have daily contact with individuals where trust and clear communication are crucial. The work requires careful documentation, legal understanding, and the ability to make qualified assessments. At the same time, you are expected to look forward and contribute to the individual, with the right interventions, approaching self-sufficiency.
We work in teams, where we support each other in an open and permissive climate. With us, you have the opportunity to develop, contribute with your competence, and help shape future ways of working within economic assistance.
We are looking for you who have a Bachelor of Social Work degree, a Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, social pedagogy, or other education that the employer deems equivalent in combination with 7.5 credits in social law.
You have at least one year of experience in authority exercise and good knowledge of the Social Services Act (SoL). We also see that you have experience in social work from before.
As a person, you are secure in your professional role, have a good and respectful attitude, and the ability to make well-founded decisions even in pressured situations. You work structured, are solution-focused, and have an easy time collaborating with both colleagues and external actors.
You are receptive and have an easy time adapting your communication according to the person you meet, and you communicate fluently in Swedish in speech and writing. Most importantly, you share our commitment to giving people a better chance at an independent life.
