The position is located within the Social Services Administration, one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Social Services Administration is responsible for regulatory authority, commissioning of measures, and own management in the areas of individual and family care, LSS (Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), and social psychiatry. We ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to.

Your Responsibilities

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of young people? At Linköping Youth Residence, you will have the opportunity to work with young people who are taking the step into adulthood. Here, you can contribute to improving their future and help create positive change in their lives.

At Linköping Youth Residence, you will work with young people aged 16–22 who are in a crucial transition phase towards a more independent life. We are looking for a Social Worker for a permanent position focused on providing young people with the support and guidance they need to overcome their challenges and build a stable future. If you are passionate about supporting youth development and have experience in social work, this is the right job for you!

As a Social Worker at Linköping Youth Residence, you will support young people through individual planning and follow-up. You will work with young people who have psychosocial difficulties, such as neuropsychiatric diagnoses, mental health issues, trauma, and behavioral problems. Your task is to create a supportive and structured plan for each young individual, aimed at strengthening their resources, developing positive networks, and giving them tools to handle life's challenges.

In your daily work, you will provide practical support and guidance, for example through ADL (Activities of Daily Living) training, help with schooling and employment, as well as individual conversations. You will be a contact person for a number of young people and work closely with them to create long-term changes in their lives. To ensure a holistic perspective on the support, you will collaborate with other societal actors, such as schools, psychiatry, and authorities.

Your Workplace

Linköping Youth Residence is a supported housing facility for young people with psychosocial problems; we also provide housing support to young people and young adults. You will be part of our dedicated team, consisting of a manager, 7 social workers, and a night team with five treatment assistants. We also have a treatment assistant responsible for our atelier activities. Together, we work to give young people the best possible support. Linköping Youth Residence collaborates closely with Götgatan Youth Residence, which gives us the opportunity for experience exchange and joint development of our working methods and approaches.

The work is both challenging and developmental, and we place great emphasis on offering support and further training so that you can grow in your professional role. With us, you will also benefit from a structured introduction program that helps you get up to speed with the work and our routines quickly.

Your working hours are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends. Over an eight-week period, you will work approximately two weekends.

Who You Are

We are looking for you who have a degree in Social Work or equivalent, for example, a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences with a focus on psychology, pedagogy, or sociology. You should have experience in psychosocial work with young people with neuropsychiatric diagnoses, mental health issues, trauma, and/or norm-breaking behavior.

We would appreciate if you have experience with legislation such as SoL (Social Services Act) and LVU (Law on Care of Young People), as well as good ability to communicate orally and in writing in Swedish, as the work involves extensive contact and documentation.

A Category B driver's license is required as travel is part of the job.

As a person, you are team-oriented and enjoy working closely with others, while also being able to take initiative and work independently when needed. You adapt easily to changes and are flexible in your approach. Your ability to stay focused and be solution-oriented allows you to contribute both stability and development to the work with our young people.
