The Folkungabygden Parish was formed in 2014 and has approximately 25,000 members across seven parishes in the municipalities of Mjölby, Boxholm, and Ödeshög, within the Diocese of Linköping. Parish work is conducted locally in five work areas, with joint administration in Mjölby.

The parish encompasses 34 churches and church rooms dating from the 12th century to 2025. Our greatest asset is the over 120 employees who, together with volunteers and elected officials, sustain and develop parish life.

The Role of Associate Priest

The position covers the full range of a priest's duties, including responsibility for worship, church services, pastoral care, teaching, and parish development. You will become part of a competent and dedicated team where collaboration, participation, and responsibility are central values.

We would appreciate it if you are willing to contribute to the work with children, young people, and families. The confirmation ministry is a well-established and significant part of the parish's life, and for those with interest and experience, there is an opportunity to take special responsibility for planning and coordinating the parish's joint confirmation work.

The work is carried out in close cooperation with the other parishes in the Folkungabygden Parish, providing both breadth and variety in the role. Your primary placement is in Mjölby Parish, but you are employed by the entire parish and contribute together with colleagues to the church's life and development in our shared area. Through the collaboration between Mjölby, Skänninge, Väderstad, Vifolka, and Östra Tollstad, you will become part of a larger context with many colleagues, various activities, and a rich parish life.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is ordained in the Church of Sweden and has the right to solemnize marriages. You are accustomed to handling administrative tasks and using IT systems as support in your work. A category B driver's license and access to a personal car are required for this position.

Furthermore, we look for someone with a good ability to meet people and build trusting relationships, and who actively wants to contribute to the development of a vibrant and sustainable parish life. You appreciate meeting people of different ages and life situations and see confirmation work as a natural and significant part of the church's mission.

You value collaboration with volunteer workers and have a desire to build relationships that create participation and engagement. You work well with both colleagues and parishioners and are secure in your priestly identity.
