About Sirius Shipping

Sirius Shipping is a family-owned shipping company founded in 1994 on Donsö, with roots in a strong maritime tradition. Today, we operate a fleet of 10 vessels, with an additional 7 newbuildings scheduled for the period 2026–2028. Our vision is to be the long-term first choice for our customers, focusing on safe, high-quality, and sustainable sea transport. Moving forward, our focus lies on renewing the fleet, increasing energy efficiency, and continuing the transition to more sustainable energy solutions, rather than growing the number of vessels.

We are now looking for an Operational Crew Coordinator.

About the role

The role of Operational Crew Coordinator is clearly operational in nature.

In this versatile role, you will have the opportunity to work with the manning of our vessels. Are you a social person with a solution-oriented attitude? Then this might be the role for you!

As a Crew Coordinator with us, it is your responsibility to ensure that our 10 vessels are manned with the right competencies. You will work with a variety of tasks within HR and crew logistics, becoming part of a close-knit team responsible for our approximately 250 employees.

The position is based at Sirius Shipping's offices on Donsö and in Fiskebäck.

Responsibilities and tasks

  • Responsible for personnel planning and managing rotation schedules for our multinational seafaring staff.
  • Collaborate with our manning agents to ensure correct vessel manning in accordance with all laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for HR administration, including personnel documentation, contract management, personnel permissions, certificates, training, and course bookings.
  • Daily contact via email and phone with crews, employees, and various external parties.
  • Involved in other HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, competence development, vetting, health, and well-being.

Your profile

  • Experience and good knowledge of manning planning, preferably from an international environment or the maritime industry.
  • Very good communication skills; you express yourself well both verbally and in writing, in both English and Swedish.
  • Experienced in working with computer-based systems and Excel.
  • A solution-oriented attitude and good ability to handle rapid changes.
  • Easy to collaborate with people and build relationships with individuals at different levels.

What we offer

We offer a role in a stable and successful family business with a strong value base and very high employee satisfaction. Here, you work closely with owners and management in an organization with short decision-making paths, great trust, and genuine engagement.

The position is a permanent employment starting as soon as possible.

We look forward to your application! Send your application to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]).

Applications are reviewed continuously, and the position may be filled earlier.

If you have any questions, contact Crew Manager Jill Topdemir at 031-973340 or via email at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]).
