About the School

Practical Gymnasium in Uppsala offers students a concept where theory is mixed with practical exercises both at school and at workplaces. At Practical, we hold ourselves to high standards to create the best conditions for a educational and fun education. Our program offerings include: Construction and Infrastructure, Electricity and Energy, Vehicles and Transport, Sales and Service, Floristry, Hotel and Tourism, Industrial Technical, and Plumbing and Property. Currently, the school has approximately 250 students and about 34 employees.

The school is located in completely newly renovated premises in central Uppsala. We offer all our students breakfast in our own cafeteria and the opportunity to run a UF (Youth Business) company during their studies. An important part of the students' education takes place at a workplace, so-called APL (Workplace-based Learning). They also have the opportunity to do their APL in another country.

Your Role

The position is a fixed-term employment at 100% starting in August.

As a Student Resource, you are an important part of the school's daily operations and work to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for our students. You support students both in and outside the classroom, focusing on promoting their knowledge development, study environment, and social well-being.

The role involves providing individual support to students based on their needs, both during lesson time and in other learning situations. You collaborate closely with teachers, mentors, and the student health team to ensure that every student gets the best possible conditions to succeed in their studies.

You will also substitute for teachers as needed according to planning and instructions. Part of the role also involves being visible and present in the school's common areas, such as corridors and break areas, where you contribute to safety, good relationships, and a positive school environment.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is highly committed to young people's learning, development, and well-being. You are a secure and relationship-building person who enjoys working closely with students and has the ability to meet different needs with patience, clarity, and respect.

You are flexible and can adapt to different situations during the school day, whether it involves providing individual support to students, substituting in the classroom, or contributing to a safe and positive environment in the school's common spaces. You work independently when needed, but are also a team player who collaborates well with colleagues and other staff.

We would prefer that you have experience working with young people, preferably within school or other educational activities.

To succeed in the role, you need to be:
