About the Company

GKN Aerospace Sweden is part of GKN Aerospace, which manufactures engine components, aircraft structures, cabin windows, wiring, and much more for many of the world's aircraft. The companies in the Aerospace division working on aircraft engine parts form the Engines unit together, and at the facility in Trollhättan, advanced parts for aircraft and space rocket engines are developed and manufactured. They also work on engine maintenance.

GKN Aerospace has production facilities in Trollhättan, Kongsberg (Norway), Mexico, and the USA. They also have an engineering office in Bangalore, India, and offices in Stockholm (Public Affairs) and Gothenburg. The headquarters for Engines is located in Trollhättan.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the current security clearance regulations. For positions where GKN's customer has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.

Your Responsibilities

Developments in our external environment create significant challenges for material procurement and the need for innovation within the aviation industry. For their military applications, this means a greater need for spare parts but also a significant responsibility towards the Swedish Armed Forces to contribute capability. The Procurement & Supply Quality Govermental department is responsible for the entire supply chain of spare parts for engines, modules, and apparatus for the maintenance of RM12 and RM16, as well as material procurement in the development of new military engines.

We are looking for you who are a buyer with the knowledge and desire to be involved in both the selection of new suppliers and the management of our existing ones. Together with the project buyer, you are involved in communication and relationships with suppliers and actively work with them regarding delivery plans, risks, improvement measures, and prices. Together with the project team, you help develop working methods and processes and become part of the long-term procurement strategy.

Your Profile

• University education or equivalent, and experience from procurement, preferably from industry.
• Analytical skills and ability to communicate well both internally and externally.
• The tasks require good IT skills, and experience with SAP is meritorious.
• You are accustomed to having structure in your work and good order.
• A large part of the documentation and communication regarding their engines requires good knowledge of the Swedish language. Most of their suppliers are located abroad, so it is important that you also have a good command of English, both in speech and writing.
• Experience from the aviation industry is meritorious but not a requirement.
• You take ownership of your products while much work is done in teams, which requires that you are good at collaborating and building networks.

The position is located in Trollhättan and requires on-site presence at the office for most of the days. The role also involves some travel.
