The Service Unit at Gothenburg University brings together expertise in a number of different areas. Together, the unit offers expert support and delivers services to the entire university. Local services are provided based on campus areas that correspond to the geographical areas where Gothenburg University's operations are located. Campus Service brings together expertise in areas such as facility services, caretaking, technical services, conference services, mail handling, and scheduling.

Campus Service Lorensberg primarily provides services to the operational areas and buildings located in the Lorensberg and Vasa areas, i.e., the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, the Faculty of Humanities, and surrounding operations.

Job Description

As a Service Technician at Gothenburg University, you are an important face of the organization as you frequently interact with students, visitors, and staff. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to the success of the operations by performing varied tasks adapted to current needs. The role includes, among other things:

  • Repairs, relocations, assembly work, lamp changes, etc.
  • Daily supervision of buildings and premises, as well as ongoing contact with property owners regarding fault reports and maintenance issues.
  • Handling of mail, goods, and internal deliveries.
  • Handling of recycling/waste.
  • Receiving requests and handling fault reports in our case management system.
  • Startup assistance for AV technology in teaching rooms.
  • Handling of locks, keys, and access cards.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Completed upper secondary education or equivalent.
  • Class B driver's license.
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Good ability to perform practical tasks.
  • Good computer skills and experience working with planning and feedback through digital tools.

Meritorious qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary studies with a focus deemed relevant by the employer.
  • Experience working with facility services.
  • Experience working in other service roles, such as conference or hotel operations.
  • Experience working in case management systems.
  • Experience working in scheduling systems, such as TimeEdit.
  • Knowledge of AV technology.

Employment

The position is a fixed-term contract (100%). The start date is to be agreed upon, and the employment will last at most until 2026-12-31. An extension may be possible. The placement for the employment is at Campus Service Lorensberg within the Service Unit.

Interviews are planned to take place during week 28.
