As a District Technician at Trafikverket, you help make daily life easier for residents and businesses throughout Sweden. You do this by contributing to the infrastructure of the future.
Job ResponsibilitiesAre you looking for a daily routine that combines ship technology with structure and leadership? We can offer that!
The role of District Technician in the Ferry Company is one of our most important positions. The District Technician works in daily operations with corrective maintenance, but primarily with long-term preventive maintenance.
You work closely with the operational crews in collaboration with the District Manager. The District Technician is responsible for a large part of the external and internal communication regarding technical issues. Therefore, it is important to have a dialogue-oriented and listening approach in your communication. A key part of the role is collaboration with the central technical department, external contractors, and our internal shipyard.
We are looking for a technician with documented strong leadership skills for the North Bohuslän district, covering the ferry routes Bohus-Malmön, Hamburgsund, and Gullmarsfjorden. You view follow-up as an opportunity to ensure good quality and provide feedback on completed work. You are open to improvement suggestions and wish to develop operations together with the crews on our ferry routes.
The District Technician is primarily responsible for ensuring that mechanical maintenance and necessary service are performed on ferries, shore facilities, and guard houses within the district. Together with the District Manager and shipping engineers, the District Technician plans future renovations, projects, and budgets, places orders, and follows up on invoices. It is your task to create the conditions for technical defects that arise to be remedied and reported, using both internal and hired resources.
You are responsible for keeping the maintenance system updated and working on continuous improvements to increase the availability of our vessels. Part of the work involves ensuring that materials for both strategic and corrective maintenance are available on-site, and that routines and documentation are up to date.
QualificationsYou need to thrive in a role with significant responsibility where you are flexible, self-initiating, and have a good ability to collaborate and build relationships with colleagues, managers, and external individuals/groups. You are goal- and solution-oriented and driven by development and continuous improvements. You have high integrity and an ethical and moral approach. The position also places high demands on your communication skills. The District Technician is the link between operations, the technical department, and suppliers, making a structured working method important.
