Description
Do you want to work in an organization that combines sustainability, joy of movement, and social inclusion? We are now looking for an employee for a fixed-term position at the Leisure Bank in Ljusdal, which is part of the Leisure Unit within the Life Environment Sector of Ljusdal Municipality.
The Leisure Unit consists of approximately 20 employees distributed across four work teams: the Leisure Unit office, the Leisure Bank, the Färila Swimming and Sports Hall, and the sports ground caretakers.
The Leisure Bank is like a library – but with sports and leisure equipment! Here, everyone, regardless of age, can borrow equipment completely free of charge. The operation is based on reuse, and by giving more people the opportunity to try new activities, we promote a more active, equitable, and sustainable society.
Responsibilities
As an employee at the Leisure Bank, you work with the daily reception, lending, and return of sports and leisure equipment. You greet visitors, ensure the premises are inviting and functional. You help visitors find the right equipment based on needs, age, experience, and activity, and are happy to answer questions about how the equipment works or is used. You register new equipment, restock the shop, keep the premises tidy, and contribute to a welcoming environment.
A large and important part of the job consists of material care – you wash, clean, repair, and maintain the equipment so that it can be used by the next person who wants to be active. You also help assess whether submitted equipment intended for reuse is intact, safe, and approved for lending, or if it can be repaired with simple means.
You will also work with simpler administration, such as registering and tracking equipment in our digital systems. To strengthen the Leisure Bank's visibility and accessibility, you are also involved in our communication via social media, where you contribute content that showcases the operation and inspires more people to borrow equipment.
The position involves close collaboration with colleagues within the Leisure Unit, but you also have contact with other parts of the municipality – for example, associations, schools, and independent schools – where you contribute to reaching more children and young people with our activities.
The work is varied and social, and you get the chance to make a concrete difference in people's daily lives.
Qualifications
You are a positive and responsible person who thrives in a role where service and interaction with people are in focus. You enjoy creating new contacts and greeting visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Experience in sports, outdoor life, sports and leisure equipment, or work within civil society is considered meritorious.
You have good computer skills and can handle digital work tools. It is also meritorious if you have experience using social media as a tool in work.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability and are looking for someone who is self-reliant, loyal, and service-oriented. You are confident in taking responsibility, communicate easily, and appreciate working both independently and together with others.
You should have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of English facilitates interaction with visitors from different parts of the world. Since some tasks in the position may involve travel within the municipality, you must also have a Class B driver's license.
Other
The position is a 100% fixed-term contract with a start date of August 17, 2026, and ending on December 4. Interviews are planned to take place continuously during the application period, and the position may be filled before the application period has expired.
We look forward to receiving your application!
