About the Job
As one of our employees moves on to a new assignment, we are now looking for a new Development Manager in Public Health in the Nordost district.
We work with a focus on reducing disparities in health and living conditions. The position is organized within the Welfare and Leisure Department, under the Community Development unit. You will work on the needs of the entire population in collaboration with other municipal departments, regional operations, and civil society.
This is a varied role with great opportunities to influence your working day. The responsibilities include strategic work such as describing the health of the population, creating policy documents for public health and equal living conditions, and coordinating cross-sectoral work based on an action plan. Furthermore, the role involves initiating, supporting implementation, and coordinating public health initiatives, as well as contributing to the development of public health work within the City of Gothenburg.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree in Public Health or another education that the employer considers equivalent. You need to have work experience in public health, social sustainability, or similar areas, with experience working independently. You have insight into and knowledge of how the conditions for different groups affect health and living conditions, as well as experience collaborating with public actors and civil society. You also need experience working in a politically governed organization.
We are looking for you who have knowledge and experience of public health work. To succeed in your assignment, it is an advantage if you have experience leading processes, working strategically, and being structured and analytical in your approach. You need to be outward-looking, communicative, and social, and enjoy working with multiple processes simultaneously.
You are stimulated by working with complex issues and contexts and have a good ability to switch between different perspectives. You are driven and motivated by being involved in societal development and developing public health work. You communicate in a way that creates engagement and participation, and you have a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.

About Us
The Social Services Administration Nordost works to provide residents in northeastern Gothenburg with equal and effective welfare with the possibility to live safe and independent lives. The administration provides support to individuals and families according to the Social Services Act. We also offer activities and meeting places that can give children and young people a meaningful leisure time. In addition, the administration works actively with crisis support, safety issues, association life, public health, and contacts with residents and civil society.
