About Väddö Folk High School

Väddö Folk High School is the oldest folk high school in Stockholm County. Since its founding in 1879, it has served as a meeting place for education, personal development, collaboration, and community.

The school is located on an island with a fixed bridge connection over the Väddö Canal, next to the town of Älmsta in Roslagen. Väddö is located three miles north of Norrtälje and ten miles from Stockholm. Bus connections are available from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) via Norrtälje, and the school has its own bus stop.

Since the launch of our police preparatory education, approximately 40% of our students have been admitted to the Police Programme.

About the Position

Are you an experienced police officer with a genuine interest in education and human development? Do you want to help shape future police officers by sharing your knowledge and experience? Then you might be the person we are looking for.

We are now seeking an engaged and competent teacher for our police preparatory education. The role involves close work with participants who are preparing for further studies and a future career within the Swedish Police Authority.

As a teacher here, you play a vital role in inspiring, guiding, and educating our participants. By combining your practical experience from the police profession with a pedagogical approach, you contribute to providing them with the knowledge, skills, and values required to succeed in their future professional roles.

The position is part-time, covering 60–80%.

Responsibilities

The role includes, among other things:

• Planning, implementing, and developing teaching and lectures.
• Working with a social-pedagogical approach and supporting participants' personal development.
• Evaluating and following up on participants' knowledge development and performance.
• Participating in the creation and development of educational materials.
• Contributing to staff meetings, educational days, and other joint activities.
• Collaborating with colleagues and external actors to ensure high-quality education.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience working within the Swedish Police Authority.
• Pedagogical education or documented experience in education and mentoring.
• Good communication skills in both speech and writing.
• The ability to inspire, motivate, and create engagement among participants.
• A structured working method and a high sense of responsibility.
