Lejonströmsskolan is now looking for a school assistant for a temporary position during the 2026/2027 school year. Here you will become an important part of a operation where care, development, and learning are woven together – and where every student should feel safe, seen, and included.

YOUR ROLE

In this role, you follow a middle school student throughout the school day and provide support based on the student's needs related to neuropsychological functional variations and other difficulties. You create structure and continuity, are a calm presence in everyday life, and help students find strategies to develop both socially and academically. The assignment also includes responsibility for supporting a student with diabetes if needed during the school day.

As a school assistant, you are an important part of the students' daily lives. By supporting the pedagogical work, both in the classroom and in other situations, you contribute to creating conditions for learning and community.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for you who have upper secondary education or equivalent experience that makes you suitable for the assignment. You have previously worked with children and young people in a school environment, and have experience of meeting students with different needs and prerequisites. To thrive in the role, you need to be secure, creative, and solution-oriented, with the ability to build good relationships and collaborate closely with both students and colleagues.

You are accustomed to using digital technology as a tool in your work and can express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing. If you have knowledge of sign language, Finnish, or other languages besides the Scandinavian ones, we see this as an extra asset. Knowledge of the curriculum and the school's governing documents is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have experience working with diabetes, as the assignment also includes responsibility for supporting a student with diabetes if needed during the school day.

For work in a school environment, a valid extract from the criminal record is also required – for us, student safety is always the focus.
