Our Mission

At the National Assessment and Planning division, we provide remote service and support via phone and digital channels to job seekers and employers across the country. The work means that you have job seekers and employers in focus and contribute every day to more people getting closer to work or education.

Our Workplace

The current unit operates in Umeå, Sundsvall, and Skellefteå and consists of approximately 180 employees distributed across 9 sections. We sit together where collaboration and collegial support are central to creating a lively atmosphere. The location is the Swedish Public Employment Service's office in Umeå.

Job Description

As an employment counselor within National Assessment and Planning, you provide service and support to both job seekers and employers across the country via phone and digital channels. In the role, you meet new job seekers for initial assessment and planning, are responsible for matching with work or education, and make decisions within the framework of the assignment. The work involves a structured daily routine with scheduled assignments and clear goals.

To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to have a structured way of working and feel confident in interpreting and applying laws and regulations. You document information in a legally secure manner, work professionally in meetings with people, and have the ability to navigate between several different systems simultaneously. You are motivated by working towards set goals and contributing to results.

Our Offer

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement. The location is Umeå.

We offer favorable vacation agreements, the possibility of flextime in agreement with the employer (after completing an introduction of approx. 9 weeks), health care during working hours, and a health care allowance. Basic Requirements for the Position

• University/college education of at least 180 higher education credits (120 credits according to the previous system)

Alternatively

• Have been employed as an employment counselor and are assessed to have good prerequisites for meeting today's requirements for employment counselors.

And

• At least 2 years of work experience, combined work at least 50 percent over a total of two years
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, i.e., good ability to communicate orally and in writing, as well as high reading comprehension

Other Merits for the Position

• Worked at least 1 year with support and service to customers via phone
• Worked at least 1 year within government operations
• Worked at least 1 year with guidance towards work and/or studies
