Responsibilities

We work primarily within public law, covering both general administrative law and specific administrative law such as environmental law and planning and building law. We handle cross-authority legal guidance, provide internal legal support and advice to units, and conduct training. We review appealed decisions and handle a wide range of other cases. This may include permits and appointments of various kinds, local traffic regulations, and service of documents. We coordinate work as a regional electoral authority, are responsible for data protection issues, and have tasks within civil defense. You will be part of a group of eight county lawyers, including one chief lawyer who is based at the business support unit. We collaborate closely within the group and alternate between being the reporting officer and the decision-maker in cases.

Common tasks include:

• Handling cases regarding local traffic regulations, permits for road racing, and other traffic matters.
• Handling cases regarding and appointing marriage officiants, notaries public, fishery inspectors, etc.
• Handling cases regarding assistance with service of documents.
• Handling appeals under, for example, the Planning and Building Act, the Environmental Code, and the Traffic Ordinance.
• Legal advice within the authority.

Your tasks may vary over time depending on the needs of the operations. In your application, you are welcome to develop which of our legal areas you are particularly interested in.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Have a law degree

We consider it meritorious if you also have:

• Experience in legal work at an authority or court
• Experience in handling traffic cases, the Planning and Building Act, the Environmental Code, or any other of the areas the working group deals with
• Experience in providing legal advice to other professional competencies
• Experience in switching between different legal areas within the same position
• Notary qualifications

We are looking for you who are good at taking initiative and enjoy independently identifying, investigating, and analyzing legal issues. You are confident in the legal method, are flexible, and are comfortable navigating different legislations. You enjoy collaborating with different professional categories and have good judgment that comes in handy in legal assessments.

Conditions

The position is a permanent employment, and a probationary period will apply.

We will conduct ongoing interviews during the application period, starting next week (week 25). Interview times will be scheduled after 14:00 Monday-Thursday.
