Are you relationship-oriented, flexible, and solution-focused? We are looking for an engaged teaching assistant who wants to contribute to a safe and developmental school environment.

About the position

You will work closely with a single student, focusing on supporting their development towards set goals based on their individual prerequisites. The work primarily involves one-on-one support, often outside the classroom, where you adapt interventions to create good conditions for learning.

An important part of the assignment is to adapt your working approach and attitude, as well as provide support in various situations during the school day. You interact with the student, guardians, teachers, and other collaboration partners, and also assist with practical tasks, such as toilet visits. The work requires a secure approach and a good ability to adapt support to the student's needs. The position also includes work in the after-school center (fritidshem) where you, together with colleagues, plan and carry out activities.

To best meet the student's needs, we prefer male applicants.

Examples of tasks:

  • responsible for supporting a student based on individually set goals and plans
  • provide support so that the student can participate in teaching based on their prerequisites
  • collaborate with the student, guardians, teachers, and other collaboration partners
  • support the student's social development and upbringing

About the workplace

Glanshammar School is one of Örebro Municipality's rural schools with approximately 340 students distributed from preschool class to grade 6. Approximately 40 staff members work here. The school is located in idyllic surroundings in Glanshammar, close to forests and fields, about 1.5 miles east of Örebro. It takes about 25 minutes to reach the school by county bus. There is also the possibility to cycle to the location on safe bike paths.

Within the Preschool and Primary School Administration, approximately 4,530 employees work. We meet the young people of Örebro from the first day in preschool to the last day in primary school.

We are jointly responsible for contributing to creating equal conditions for the young people of Örebro and laying the foundation for learning that extends throughout life. With trust and courage, we build our preschools and schools together. We take on the challenges of the future, for the best of every child.

Qualifications

As a teaching assistant, you are sensitive, flexible, and have the ability to notice and meet students' individual needs. You contribute to creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment where students are given good conditions to develop both academically and socially.

You work closely with teachers and other staff and participate actively in the pedagogical work within given frameworks and plans. You can handle different situations during the school day in a secure and professional manner and are a support for students in both learning and social interaction. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and can communicate clearly with students, guardians, and other staff.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
