The County Administrative Board is an expert agency within the fields of nature and environment, community planning and rural affairs, directly subordinate to the Government. We act as a link between people, municipalities, regions, and various agencies. We work to ensure that national goals are implemented in the county. We do this by considering the overall picture in our agency's operations, by disseminating knowledge, and by coordinating and developing various substantive issues. Do you want to work close to the County Administrative Board's county leadership in a strategic and socially important role with great variety and broad contact areas?
We are now looking for a County Leadership Coordinator who wants to contribute to supporting and developing the work close to the County Governor and the County Council Chairman.
The County Leadership Coordinator works within the County Administrative Board's secretariat, which supports the county leadership and works with overarching issues concerning the County Administrative Board as a whole.
The secretariat coordinates and supports the County Governor's external activities, assignments, and contacts. Internal and external meeting forums, such as the Supervisory Board, the Management Group, the cross-sectoral steering group, and staff information meetings, are also administered here.
Job Responsibilities
As a County Leadership Coordinator, you work closely primarily with the County Governor, but also with the County Council Chairman, in their daily and strategic assignments. The role involves providing qualified support to the county leadership and gives you a unique insight into issues affecting the county's development and cooperation at regional and national levels.
The assignment includes among other things:
- conducting strategic environmental scanning and analysis with a focus on regional and national issues,
- preparing, quality-assuring, and preparing materials for meetings, decisions, and other commitments,
- coordinating the county leadership's external contacts and meetings with, for example, municipalities, regions, agencies, and other societal actors,
- participating in internal briefings and, if necessary, assisting in the preparation of decision matters,
- carrying out investigation and coordination assignments as support to the county leadership.
The role involves close cooperation with the County Governor's secretary as well as collaboration with the agency's management group and other parts of the operations. You will also have many external contact areas and represent the operations in various contexts.
As a County Leadership Coordinator, you are organizationally placed directly under the county leadership with the County Council Chairman as your immediate manager. The role offers great opportunities to influence and develop both working methods and content over time.
The work also includes administrative tasks, secretariat support, and practical chores related to the needs of the county leadership.
Travel within and outside the county occurs, sometimes also outside regular working hours, which places demands on flexibility.
Qualifications and Profile
We are looking for you who have a relevant academic education in areas connected to the County Administrative Board's operational mandate. Experience in communication, journalism, or the media sector is meritorious.
You have experience working in the public sector and preferably within state administration. It is important that you have a good understanding of public processes and the ability to handle complex issues in an environment with many contact areas.
To succeed in the role, you need to be:
- independent and proactive,
- structured and quality-conscious,
- confident in your professional role and have high integrity,
- responsive and have very good cooperation skills,
- skilled at creating and maintaining good relationships.
You express yourself fluently in both speech and writing in both Swedish and English, and have good stylistic ability.
A broad interest in society and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new issues are prerequisites.
We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
About the Position
The employment is permanent or fixed-term. A probationary period of six months may be applied.
Start date as soon as possible, by agreement.
All positions at the County Administrative Board may be subject to security clearance and military deployment depending on the nature of the assignment.
