Your responsibilities – contribute to efficient financial management

Your main responsibility as a financial controller is to coordinate and develop the Agency's budget work and financial monitoring, as well as to summarize, analyze, and propose measures. The role also involves coordinating the preparation of both external and internal forecasts. As a centrally placed financial controller, you will, together with your colleagues, work closely with the Agency's management on issues related to operational management and specifically the Agency's financial management.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have an academic degree in a field that the Swedish Energy Agency considers relevant or equivalent experience. You have several years of experience working with financial management and analysis within the public sector, for example, coordinating budget, forecast, and financial monitoring work. Furthermore, you have experience interpreting and applying financial conditions based on agencies' letters of delegation or other governing documents. You communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and are an experienced presenter and discussion leader. You have good knowledge of modern IT systems and programs.

It is also meritorious if you have experience working with:

• Budget coordination at a government agency
• Financing via specific appropriations
• Reporting on delegated authority

About us

You will be part of the Agency's section for operational management, located within the Planning and Budget Secretariat at the Staff Department. Here, 14 driven and engaged operational and financial controllers look forward to welcoming you to the secretariat. We focus on steering issues and coordinate contacts with the Government Offices and written steering from the government, such as letters of delegation, assignments, and instructions. We work to ensure that the Agency has efficient environmental and energy management work and coordinate the Agency's planning and monitoring process. In addition, as a section, we manage and develop the Agency's lead-and-steer processes.

The position is a permanent employment with an initial six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
