Workplace Description

On January 10, 2023, we finally opened our doors to our students at the newly built Midsommarkransen School on Bäckvägen 1 in the heart of Midsommarkransen.

We are a grades F-9 school with approximately 950 students, but in our fantastic and unique premises, we can accommodate up to 1,000 students. The school operates with three parallel classes up to grade 9 in the compulsory school and houses four classes within our adapted compulsory school. As the school grows, we need to recruit even more competent and engaged employees.

The school already has a fantastic staff with many competent, experienced, and engaged educators in various roles, including our own school librarian. Our student health team consists of special education teachers, school psychologists, counselors, school nurses, school doctors, as well as study and career counselors. In our administrative team, school secretaries, IT managers, and caretakers work, and in our school restaurant, meals are cooked from scratch by our kitchen team. The school leadership consists of the principal, four deputy principals, and an administrative manager.

Job Description

We are looking for you who are engaged, cooperative, and goal-oriented, and who are qualified to teach Physical Education in grade 7 and Spanish in grades 6–9. Being a clear and secure leader in the classroom, who understands the importance of relationship-building with your students, is central to this role. You have high expectations for the students and involve them in the planning. You develop their ability to learn, both independently and together with others. You take responsibility for and have insight into the students' results so that an accessible and stimulating learning environment is created. This means catching students with difficulties, as well as students who need challenges. You enjoy working systematically together with your colleagues to increase goal achievement.

To thrive in your role, you need to be able to work in a changing environment where you contribute to our school's development and well-being. Mentoring in grade 7 is included in the position.

Qualifications

You are qualified in Physical Education and Spanish.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

The position may be filled by an surplus teacher.

Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.

In the City of Stockholm, there are approximately 140 compulsory schools and 30 upper secondary schools with different profiles.
